    Meaning

Elianna is a feminine given name with Hebrew origins.

Its meaning is rooted in the biblical name “Elisha,” which combines two Hebrew words: “El” signifying “God” or “strength” and “Sha,” meaning “man” or “people.”

Therefore, Elianna can be interpreted as “God has answered” or “My God is strong.”

The name’s popularity may stem from its association with Biblical figures like Elisha, a prophet known for his miracles and divine guidance.

Elianna also holds a lyrical quality that resonates with modern parents seeking beautiful and meaningful names for their daughters.

Elianna is a name of Hebrew origin, combining elements that carry rich symbolic meaning.

“Eli” translates to “***God***” in Hebrew, signifying a deep connection to the divine.

“Anna” has various interpretations, including “grace,” “favor,” or “beauty.” This duality suggests a name imbued with both spiritual strength and earthly charm.

The meaning of Elianna is often interpreted as “***God*** is gracious” or “***God*** is my favor.” This interpretation speaks to the belief in divine benevolence and protection, highlighting the importance of faith and trust in God’s care.

    Historical Usage and Popularity:

    • Elianna’s roots lie in biblical Hebrew. While not directly mentioned in scripture, it is a variation of the name Hannah (meaning “grace”), prominently featured as the mother of the prophet Samuel.
    • The name gained popularity in recent decades, particularly within Jewish and Christian communities. Its melodic sound and positive connotations have made it a cherished choice for parents seeking a meaningful and elegant name for their daughters.

    Modern Interpretations:

Elianna resonates with modern sensibilities that value both spirituality and personal strength. The name evokes a sense of:

    • **Faithfulness:** Elianna carries the weight of religious tradition, symbolizing devotion and trust in a higher power.
    • **Graceful Resilience:** “God is gracious” speaks to an ability to navigate life’s challenges with dignity and strength, finding comfort and support in faith.
    • **Inner Beauty:** The name’s association with “grace” and “favor” suggests a gentle spirit combined with inner beauty and kindness.

In conclusion, Elianna is more than just a beautiful name; it is a tapestry woven from threads of religious history, profound meaning, and enduring human values.

    Origin

Elianna is a feminine given name with Hebrew origins. It’s a beautiful name with rich meaning and a fascinating history.

The name Elianna is a combination of two Hebrew words: “El” meaning “God” or “mighty one,” and “Hannah,” which signifies “grace” or “favor.”

Therefore, the full name Elianna translates to “God is gracious” or “God has favored.” This biblical significance imbues the name with a sense of divine blessing and spiritual connection.

The name’s roots lie in the Old Testament, specifically the story of Hannah from the Book of Samuel. Hannah, who was barren, prayed fervently to God for a child. Her plea was answered when she gave birth to Samuel, a prophet who played a significant role in the history of Israel.

Because of this powerful narrative, the name Hannah and its variations, like Elianna, have been cherished by Jewish families for centuries as a symbol of faith, perseverance, and God’s mercy.

In recent times, Elianna has gained popularity beyond Jewish communities, becoming a beloved name in many Western cultures. Its melodic sound and meaningful message resonate with parents seeking a name that is both beautiful and spiritually significant.

    History

Elianna is a name of Hebrew origin meaning “God has answered me.” It is a variant of the name Hannah, which also holds the same biblical significance.

The name’s popularity fluctuates over time, experiencing surges in specific eras and cultures. While its roots lie deeply in ancient religious texts, Elianna’s modern usage emerged more recently, gaining traction in the late 20th century.

Several factors contribute to a name’s rise and fall in popularity:

    • Biblical and literary connections: Names with strong religious or cultural associations often see recurring popularity. Elianna’s biblical roots tie it to a story of answered prayers and divine intervention, making it appealing to those seeking spiritual meaning.

    • Cultural trends and influences: Media, popular culture, and societal shifts influence name choices. Elianna may have gained momentum as a result of celebrity babies or literary characters bearing the name.

    • Sound and aesthetics: The way a name sounds and its perceived beauty can influence its appeal. Elianna’s melodic quality and graceful syllables contribute to its attractiveness.

Elianna has a distinctly feminine feel, reflecting modern trends towards softer, more ethereal names. Its uniqueness while remaining relatively common sets it apart from overly trendy choices.

The name’s cultural impact is primarily seen in personal connections and individual stories. It carries the weight of its biblical heritage, representing faith, hope, and divine guidance. For those who bear the name, Elianna can be a source of inspiration and strength, embodying a connection to a rich history and timeless meaning.
